Emerald Preparatory & KindergartenThe Emerald Preparatory & Kindergarten School is located at 5 Trinity Crescent, Montego Bay, in the parish of St. James. Emerald Preparatory & Kindergarten opened its doors on Monday, September 7, 2015 to five students and two teachers inclusive of the principal. After one and a half years the ECI department population now stands at 23 students. At this time one teacher with NCTVET Level 11 certificate was added. There are also two volunteers and one cook/ancillary worker who is certified in food preparation.
After one year of operation, the institution was recognized by the Early Childhood Commission and received a permit to operate. Presently the institution is working on becoming certified.
The school is housed in a rented building. The building is single floor and rectangular. The walls are concrete and the floor has terrazzo tiles. It also has a zinc roof with ceiling. The institution is equipped with the following: grassy outdoor play, internal play area, napping area, four instructional areas with learning centres, an office, three bathrooms and a kitchen. Beautiful flowers are planted along the exterior of the building to accentuate the environment.Vision Statement
